There are 2 different types of vintage Halloween, you have the old style postcard pictures, we used this style to create our vintage pumpkin Halloween invitations:
Then there is the modern vintage inspired Halloween, when put together well this can be spooky as well as stylish and much more elegant than traditional purple orange and green decorations. In this blog we are going to focus on how to use black and white to give your party a vintage look.

No Halloween party is complete without pumpkins, instead of the traditional pumpkin carving you could paint them white and decorate them with black paint or stickers using either words or a decorative pattern, finish off with some black ribbon to complete the look. Alternatively paint them white and then cover with black lace for equally effective vintage look.
Used in the right setting ravens, spiders and bats are great for decorating in a vintage style, make a feature out of them for extra effect.
Anything vintage style that you have around the house can add to the effect, think about using old style cameras or chandeliers, vintage suitcases, old hardback books or lamps etc. Birdcages can be used effectively, just add some cobwebs and perhaps a raven inside. Having a black & white theme will make it easier to find household items and integrate the them into the décor.
If you have decorative white plates simply add some black silhouettes to the centre of plates, alternatively you could print some spooky portrait pictures and put them in front of your family photos that are already in the lounge.
